When we arrived, our first taxi driver told us, “you’re in Greece, you are free.” I experimented with so many different techniques, subject matter and materials. Painting this confident yet vibrant beauty really got me out of my comfort zone. And I really am free.

Here’s three paper pieces I made here in Rhodes. There is so much inspiration and beauty here. I especially love all the green and flowers and plants everywhere. Enjoy.

"Desert Glow" is 2 feet by 4 feet, mixed media oil painting created for my friend Marty. He is an avid hiker and commissioned me to create a scene that expressed his love for nature. The collaboration process in creating a commissioned painting is my favorite!

So this painting also came with a surprise...

I think Max liked his painting. He's a little shy in the second pic. 😊 Marty (Max's human) liked it too.

I fell in love with these little fellows recently. Sometimes painting dog portraits gets a bad rap among my professional artist friends. But if you know me at all you know I am a "dog person" for sure! I am drawn to painting animals in a lot of my work, not just commissions.

I thought you might enjoy seeing the process of how these adordable Chinese Crested pups came to be in this highly textured painting.

This lovely family, "The Guardians", from my previous bird series recently went to its forever home.

I don't always know the exact connection a painting will make with someone but I do know I often feel led or guided while I'm painting. It's like I feel connected to the Spirit of the Universe who is preparing each particular creation for a future with its new person.

Each of these owls represent a specific family member who I am honored and privileged to know. And while they may be guarding the forest, or guarding each other I have no doubt that the mama bird is guarding the timeless love and connection of this family.
